Not everyone is up and cheery for the Christmas holidays. Dealing with the death
of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make parties and joviality painful for many people in our congregations and communities.
Therefore we would like to offer an opportunity for those of us who are living through dark times to reflect, accept where we really are, and experience a sense of healing and hope. Saturday evening, December 20, 2014, at 6 PM we will gather for such a service in the Vestry (downstairs sanctuary) to observe the “Longest Night”. All are welcome.
Everyone is welcome to a Family-Friendly Christmas Eve Service featuring Scripture readings, carols, and candle lighting. We are joining together with the “Journey Church” who will also be participating in this time of celebration. Plan to make this a holiday tradition to remind us all of the reasons we celebrate! The Christmas Eve offering will go to help the Community Cupboard, so plan to bring some non-perishables to add to the food basket.
